Samples in order

  • Sample 3
  • Sample 1
  • Sample 2

Explanation

I ranked the samples with the third as my most favorite, the second as my least favorite and the second as in between. I thought all of the plans were good, so it was actually hard for me to rank them. Ultimately, I just went for which I understood better, and which I felt were the most detailed. This is how I came up with the order I did.

For Sample 3, I felt like I gained a clear understanding of the models used and I was able to understand the courses and modules. It was interesting that the two models in this sample were linear models were the sequence in one was selected by the instructional designer and the other was selected by the user. The author did a good job at breaking down the details in each and explaining the models. I liked their blend of the two. I also appreciated the strategies for instruction at the bottom of the plan.

In Sample 1, I think the author could have done a little better of a job at explaining the models. They provided a good understanding, but I feel like I didn’t get a full understanding just with the brief descriptions. However, I did like how they broke them down with the strengths and weaknesses. I also liked the breakdown of the instructional modules in this sample.

Sample 2 was my least favorite, but I don’t want that to take away from the quality of the work. I appreciated the simple approach of jumping right in with a table to display the details of each model. The table cells did a good job at breaking down similarities, differences, strengths and weaknesses, while providing a brief explanation of both. The plan was good as well. Overall, I think more detail in each section could help out this sample.
